Wilmington Neighborhood Highlight: Riverlights

Welcome to a new series on the blog, where I highlight popular and up-and-coming neighborhoods for those looking to put down roots in the Wilmington area.

If you’re looking for small-town charm with all the advantages of being near one of the most sought-after cities on the East Coast, Riverlights is the place to be. With new homes constantly popping up in this new-build neighborhood all the time, I wanted to give you a quick rundown of why families are flocking here—and why you might want to, too.

No matter what kind of home you’re looking to buy, you can find it in Riverlights. From townhomes to single family homes to long-term rentals, you can find it all.

Here are some of the can’t miss highlights:

1. Marina Village

Marina Village is a lively extension of the Riverlights Community—enjoy downtown vibes with tons of shops, restaurants, and shopping. Whether you’re looking to treat yourself at a nail salon, enjoy a glass of wine or beer, partake in a round of golf, or savor a slice of fresh pizza, you can find it here! Plus, its location along the Cape Fear River makes it a gorgeous backdrop for sunsets and all your social gatherings!

2. River & Lake Access

Access to water activities is abundant in this community. Between the pool, the 38-acre lake, and Cape Fear River, you can paddle board, swim, canoe, kayak, or fish/crab any time you’d like. Plus, these bodies of water make for idyllic strolls and biking adventures! There’s no shortage of exciting water activities for everyone in the family—or just gorgeous views for those who like to stay on land.

3. World-Class Amenities

At the Lake House, you can find a pristine community pool, family-friendly games, gathering spaces that are perfect for hosting or hanging with your neighbors, and exciting waterslides and splash pads for the kiddos. At the River House, you can find a robust fitness center, 4 pickleball courts, another resort-style pool, and additional gathering spaces. And we can’t forget about the gorgeous boardwalk and pier, perfect for fishing, crabbing, or catching a brilliant sunset on the water.

4. 500 Acres of Green Space

Dog parks, a kids community garden, kayak launch points, fire pits, and more are available to make the most of the beautiful scenery and enjoy all the nature that coastal NC has to offer.

This community is the perfect spot to raise a family, build a strong social community with your neighbors and peers, or even enjoy a peaceful and fulfilling retirement. If you want to learn more, check them out on Instagram
